Tragic news. Nigel ‘Nidge’ Miller from Blitz was run over and killed yesterday. He and the band were in Texas after playing 29 dates of a thirty date tour. We’ll pass on more details as we hear them. Sincere condolences to Nidge’s family. RIP mate.

Hi Guys After what was (so I've been told) an awesome gig and a few drinks, he tried to cross Interstate 35, which by all accounts is one mother of a road. He was hit by a car and died instantly. Here's a bit more information in the words of Steve Smith, the Red Alert singer who was singing with the band on the tour: ==================== I arrived back home on Tuesday from the Blitz tour and after a couple of days rest, have turned on this pc to read some shit rumours about what happened to poor Nidge that night.Basically, the tour was going great, really great,in fact according to Nidge it was the best Blitz tour ever. That more or less explains what a good frame of mind he was in.We were already planning the next three tours. Anyway,on Friday 9th Feb we played EMO'S in Austin,TX.As with most of the tour that was another top show, lot of people, good performance, great all round night. We did our usual, had a few drinks with the crowd after the show then headed out to find a motel, usually on the way to the next show.We found one and booked a couple of rooms. Some slept(me included)some stayed up drinking.Next thing I knew, the lads were banging on the door in tears and shock telling me what happened. The one lad who was actually with him at the time said he didn't really know why Nidge was trying to cross that freeway, maybe Nidge didn't either, like i said,we did usually have a good drink after the shows. The police came and asked a loada questions but there wasn't a lot we could tell them. One good thing if you could find anything good in this,is they told us he wouldn't have known much about it,no pain involved. All I would finally say on this is it was just a drunken accident which cost a great lad his life. Rest in Peace Nidge, you'll be remembered mate. Steve,on behalf of Matt(bass) and Oscar(drums) too.By the way we all went out next night and got tribute tattoos done in Nidge's memory. ==================== www.nofuturerecords.co.uk/Sorry lads, I just had to add that image. Good luck for the rest of the season ... I think we BOTH need it.
